Barahonda Welcomes UCAM Gastronomy Students

Barahonda recently welcomed a group of students from the UCAM Degree in Gastronomy for a day designed to give them first-hand insight into our wines, vineyards, winemaking processes and gastronomic philosophy, as well as the way we approach communication within the wine industry.

During their visit, the students followed the winery’s usual tour route, discovering the different stages of the winemaking process. The experience allowed them to understand how the character of the territory and the Monastrell grape variety are expressed in the wines, resulting in products with a distinctive identity.

The programme also included a communication workshop, where students learned how Barahonda builds its brand and shapes its message. They gained a closer understanding of how this narrative is conveyed through different channels and content, spanning everything from vineyards and wines to wine tourism and gastronomy.

The experience continued with a visit to the restaurant, highlighting the role of gastronomy as a natural extension of the project and as a key tool in strengthening brand perception. One of the most memorable moments of the day was the immersive virtual reality experience, which allowed students to explore the history of Barahonda through an innovative format that seamlessly connects tradition and technology within a single story.

The visit concluded with a wine tasting at the Wine Club, where the students enjoyed a selection of our wines and brought the day to a close through a sensory experience.

Initiatives such as this reflect Barahonda’s commitment to education, knowledge-sharing and bringing the world of wine closer to new generations, sharing not only what we do, but also how we tell our story.
